Passion Burns Bright As MIDP Won The Best Brands Awards 2025

Wednesday, 28th May 2025 – In the same year the Malaysian Institute for Development of Professionals (MIDP) proudly marks its 15th anniversary, we are deeply honoured to receive The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Award for Sustainable Brand in Human Capital Development (Soft Skills).

To be recognised at such a milestone moment in our journey, what more could we ask for? Pride. Joy. Gratitude. No single word captures the full glow that surrounds our team at this moment.

This award is more than a trophy. It’s a testament to every obstacle we’ve overcome, every quiet sacrifice made behind the scenes, and every bold decision to keep going – driven not by reward, but by the fire that fuels us every day.

A fire we proudly name in our motto: Motivated By Passion.

That’s what makes this recognition special. That’s the true weight behind this gold-plated plaque now standing tall on our shelf.

A Recognition Of Our Heart, Hard Work

Held at the esteemed Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards 2025 celebrated the transformational journeys of SMEs – those that rose from humble beginnings to build brands with real, lasting impact.

In his rousing keynote, Prof. Dr. KKJohan urged SMEs to “Step Up, Scale Up, and Soar Up – The Time is Now,” reminding us that the future belongs to those bold enough to lead with purpose.

To be named a Sustainable Brand is a profound honour. This award recognises not only our growth and innovation over the past 15 years, but also our unwavering belief in soft skills as the backbone of a thriving, resilient workforce. From communication and cognitive skills, to people and cultural intelligence, no one can truly thrive at work without these essential competencies.

Standing alongside fellow changemakers, we were reminded: branding is not just about logos, visuals, or taglines. It’s about the lives you touch, the values you uphold, and the legacy you build – day in, day out. 

Our tagline was breathed alive with our passion, and this award is a celebration of that passion made visible.

The Vision, Our Next Move

If you’ve followed our journey from the start, you may have noticed our evolution – from the ‘Malaysian Institute for Debate and Public Speaking’ to today’s ‘Malaysian Institute for Development of Professionals’.

And while we continue to run the very classes that built our foundation (Semester 3 is now open for registration!), this change reflects not a departure, but an expansion of vision – to advance soft skills competency not just for students, but for professionals too.

We’ve had the privilege of watching generations of young people grow into their voice. Now, we stand ready to walk with them as they grow into their careers, and shape the future of the workforce with empathy, agility, and courage.

This is not a rebrand. It’s a re-affirmation. A branding growth that mirrors our mission.

Our Team, Our Pride, Our Success

Seven months into my journey with MIDP, being present at the award ceremony felt surreal. It was more than just a professional milestone, it was a deeply personal moment of pride.

In my days working with MIDPeeps – is what we love to call ourselves. Birds of a feather flock together, as they say – I’ve bear witness to the fire each person brings to the work we do. 

From education, corporate, events, and marketing, to our network of trainers, MIDP is powered by people who care – truly care.

Every youth soft skills and corporate leadership course delivered, every event organised, every campaign launched, every challenge navigated, it all stems from the same place: heart, discipline, and belief. The team doesn’t just aim to complete a task; they strive to do it well, every time.

Time and time again, I’ve witnessed how each individual carries the brand with pride. They show up for each other, lift one another, and believe in learning through both success and mistakes. 

Believe me, this team has faced countless hurdles. And yet, they keep showing up, smiles unwaning. Even on the hardest days, our lunches are filled with laughter, and we get right back on the job.

That resilience, that unity, is the real story behind this win.

This Is What Passion Looks Like

This award is a reminder that when you build something with heart, it shows. When you lead with purpose, people feel it. And when you stay true to your mission, the results follow.
